About Hampshire Windows
Hampshire Windows gives homeowners a way to ask several independent window firms about the same job without explaining it from scratch each time. Submit one online enquiry and, where suitable specialists are available, you can receive up to four quotations. It is free to enquire, and you decide whether any offer suits you.
Our Part in Your Window Project
We introduce enquiries. The businesses that respond measure the openings, advise on products and prepare their own prices. Hampshire Windows does not fit the windows, employ the installers or promise a particular result. Your order, payments and installation agreement are with the company you appoint.
That distinction matters when a job changes after the survey. A hidden rotten sub-frame, additional access equipment or a different glazing specification must be discussed with the installer. Ask for the revised scope and total price in writing before authorising extra work.
A Service Focused on Hampshire
Our coverage runs from the northern towns around Fleet, Farnborough and Basingstoke to Southampton, Portsmouth and the Solent coast. We also welcome enquiries from Winchester, Romsey, Alton, Petersfield and smaller settlements in the New Forest and Meon Valley. Every firm chooses its own working area, so a Hampshire address does not guarantee that four companies will be available.
The details of a property often matter more than distance alone. A Southsea terrace may offer little space for a delivery vehicle. A rural cottage may have narrow access, and a flat in Southampton may need arrangements with the managing agent. Include those details so a firm can judge whether it can take the work on.
From One Failed Pane to a New Set of Windows
The six services on this site are uPVC casement windows, uPVC bay windows, tilt and turn windows, sliding sash windows, double glazing replacement and uPVC French windows. Each covers more than a choice of frame colour. A casement enquiry may involve hinges and locks; a sash enquiry may involve balances, cords or retaining sound timber boxes.
For bays, mention any cracking, movement or roof above the frames. For French windows, say whether there are already doors or whether the wall below a window would need altering. Glass-only replacement is a different job from removing the complete frame, so tell us if you would prefer an assessment of repair options first.
Choosing the Business You Will Use
Companies joining the network are asked to provide relevant insurance details and references. This does not replace your own checks or guarantee workmanship. Ask for current insurance evidence and recent examples of the same kind of job, especially for structural bays or traditional timber sashes.
For replacement windows, establish whether the proposed work falls within the installer's competent person scheme registration or needs a building control application. You can check the routes in the government guidance on competent person schemes. A scheme logo on a van is not a substitute for verifying current registration and the scope it covers.
Before paying a deposit, read the written specification, payment stages, cancellation terms and arrangements for delays. Ask who deals with a failed glass unit or a dropped sash after installation, and what the product and fitting guarantees cover. Keep all the paperwork together rather than relying on verbal assurances.
Enough Detail to Start a Useful Conversation
You do not need to measure an upstairs window to send an enquiry. A room-by-room count, a description of the problem and photographs taken safely from the ground or inside are enough to begin. Final manufacturing measurements are the installer's responsibility. If a property is listed or you know permission is required, mention the position before a firm orders anything.
